Gary,
The chat room seems to get used far more in your winter time but it is an extremely good point of 'real time' contact between us far flung Opelers.
All works well - How much is the licence cost for a year?
Regards, Jim
The license for the Chat program is up for renewal. Are people happy with the way it works? Any problems with it? Is this a feature we should keep?

Last year it was $135.00. I may drop down to the next level ($100.00) as the current version has some features that we do not use. They offer a discount for a 2 year term.
The access count since April 2004 is 16,135. So it does see a lot of traffic.

A lot of that traffic is me! Just Paypaled a bit to help pay for it. Thank You for making it all available to us.
All we need is the capability to type in and read replies, I guess.![]()

I've only used it a few times, during boring winter months... enjoyed it every time! I'll be sending a donation soon also, I feel like I'm overdue, will be sending some in the names of GT Jim and RallyBob too for their immense help recently!
I'll send yyou a contribution too, Gary, While I don't go there a lot it is fun and informative too.
Thanks, Jim.
That top level version has a feature where the last 10 lines of chat are visible to new sign ons. It never worked as promised.
They have a new version that is in "Alpha" testing right now that is supposed to have major improvements. We'll see.

Having the previous 10 lines visible to new sign-ons would be an embarasing disaster - always seems that as soon as someone is being 'chatted' about they sign on!![]()

One tip. If you log into the chat in the "Floating" mode a smaller window pops up. If no one is in the room, you can then continue browsing the site in the main window. If someone logs in and types in your user name, you will get a signal that there are people in the chat. Almost like being on "Hold" until others arrive.

Exactly what I do Gary - just minimise the "floating" Chat off the screen entirely and get a nice "Welcome" call when someone else logs in.Originally Posted by Gary
BTW: The usual device to get some one's attention in the Chat is *meow*
It makes all the cats in the house ***** up their ears too!![]()
