    3 pics max

Isn't there anything to do about the 3 pics max? I posted a thread about an alternative for the rubber hinge inserts. wanted to post 5 pics but only three made it.
    Can this be changed??

    Pic size

Gary could you edit the size too? i Know i asked this before but when you did the change i saw i could easily add higher res pics under 300KB so i think if it is set to 1024x1024 that would be the best. so you can add pics both 1024x768 and 768x1024.
    cheers

    Size Matters!

Recently loaded up 4 or 5 pics to the rusty Kadett A Wagon Thread no problem.
Bigger pics = bigger files to store and slower downloads - anything above 640 X 600 makes page loading slow right down .. worse if a thread has several big, hi-res pics!
Lots of members are still on Dial-up.

There are two ways to add a photo to your post. One is to use the attachment option. This creates a thumbnail that enlarges to full size when clicked on. The other is to include the pic in the post itself. Using the attachment option in your hinge rubber post (great topic, BTW), would have allowed for larger images.

The size of the embedded photo needs to be limited so the layout of the forum remains consistent and the number limited for speed of loading a post with large images by members who may only have a passing interest in the post. The size and number of allowed attachment was recently increased. I'll look into the higher res.

Good points, Jim. That and the layout issues are the reason the embedded pics are limited to the size they are.

Hey, this multi-quote option is cool!!!

I know. but i wasn't talking about the embedded pictures. i was talking about attachments. those always show up as little thumbnails. and as long as you don't increase the max size of 300KB nothing will change. i make pics of 1024x768 that are beneath 100 KB. anyone that has XP could do this just google for XP Powertoys and download the image resized. it works great. you just select the pictures you want to resize click on the right button and then resize pictures. then you select the desired format and it resized automaticly. also size is always very low with this resizer.

Some of the vb codes are explained here: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode This link is from the FAQ section. The buttons in the reply window are the What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Formatting. If you hold you mouse over a button, it should tell you what it is for.

I increased the size to 1024 x 1024. As of today, there are 8,929 attachments using up over 655 GIG of space on the server.
