Server Move = email problems

I had several reports of tha site loading slowly after the move. I just disabled the translator program to see if that is the cause. Post in the Bug report forum if you notice the page taking 15- 20 seconds to load.

Email alerts are not beeing sent. I have several threads that I subscribe to that have had posting on that I have not received an email that someone has posted to.

Which thread? I checked your basic settings and they seem ok. I just ran an update threads script. Let me know if you still do not get the email.

I did not get this thread when you replyed to it. I will check with email provider also they may see the updates as spam and block it. I will let you know.

I have taken off all my spam blockers and I did not get Ron posting alert on this thread.

I just changed a setting for sending thread subscription emails. It was set to send in batches after "x" amount were in que. It is now set to set when thread is updated.

hmmm.... Rick, check your subscriptions list in your UserCP and see if this thread is set to "Instant notification".

I did and it is and I still have not receive notification.

One more thing Rick. When you see a new post in a thread you subscribed to listed on the main page, is there a check mark in the upper right of the title block? If you hold your mouse pointer over it it will read "You are subscribed to this thread".

I changed another setting last night and increased the frequency the "batches" of subscription notices are sent out. It is not an instant notification process. It was set to once a day.

OK, I do have check marks on the main page for the various threads. I have not received any emails from opelgt.com for the last week.

I well send myself a PM and see if it comes thru. I think the sending email is the same on PM alerts and thread alerts. If not let me know I will contact my provider to see if they can see the emails come in. I have had some trouble with Bellsouth on bouncing good emails and let bad ones come thru.

I have checked my User CP settings and have "Instant Notification" for postings and "Send PMs" showing but no emails have arrived since the change of servers.
The problem is only with GT.com - though there have been reports of "criminal gangs" flooding cyberspace with fake Viagra and Stock Report emails ... so bulk emails from the new server may be blocked somewhere along the line if spam blockers on other servers who forward such bulk mailings do not recognise the new server's address as khosher.

Just went into the database and looked at the mailque table. There was a lot of data in it when it should have been empty. Ran a repair/optimize script and now there is zero. Either someone got a bunch of emails or the data got dumped...

I just got my first email alert. It was on the EZ-Wiring thread on namba209 (Ron) posting. FYI, I was subsribed to the tread before it "New Step by Step GT build" and did not get a alert. So you did something between the time the two postings that kicked the email alert out.

Same here, IDK what Gary did but it's up and running a lot faster too.
