    1967-1/2 Rallye Kadett?????

Ebay is showing a 67 Kadett Rallye Item# 320122198547, but it is pretty rough shape. The only one I have heard of is New Zealand Jim's. Were there a lot of these offered in the US?? I know I have a 100 Kadett questions and the cars were so vague on what they had and used on different years, but I would like to know. This one seems to have the badging, and I can see a partial stripe on the fender. Also has the early woodgrain steering wheel and the only thing throwing me off is the back trunk emblems say "Kadett L" and the Rallye under them. Is that how they were in 67 with the "L" markings as well? Anyways GT Jim might want to look at it, if nothing else to remember how sweet his is.

    Rallye pics observations

. . . bullet hole in windshield and a lot of side glass is missing . . . no Rallye lights, no Rallye gauges, from position of floor-plan shifter hole, 1.1 engine . . . and on and on. A lot of hard-to-find things are missing . . . BIG project!

    wow

That's one rough looking car. Really, really rough.

The shifter hole is in the right place for the "sport" transmission, the stripes and cowl paint look correct, and it looks to have disc brakes which would all be consistant with the Rallye of that year. The sport shifter and power brakes might be on all the coupes, though, as my non-Rallye '67 coupe has them too.

I think I have all the missing rear glass for it if someone does want to try to save it, but since everything else on that car would need to be repaired as well it might be just too far gone to save. It would be a huge project.

I would like to get a spare rear window, though....

    Okay, my original post...

Please note I have no desire to try to ressurect the impossible, I was just commenting really on how rare these are to be seem in the states. This is the first one I have seen other than advertising and GTJIMS. The car seems to be what it is unless Jim can call BS on it though. I question the Kadett "L" emblem on the back is all. It had the stripes and the steering wheel, just everything else was demolished...sad to see one go like that

    Yep! Not B S

That is almost exactly like mine - 'L' badge only on mine too.
The very early Kadett Rallyes had leaf springs at the rear end and the grooves stamped behind the rear side windows make it a "Kiemmen" Coupe'
(Means "Gills" - I have been told ... sp?). Most all the 'Rallye' bits are missing from that poor wee refugee from the crusher - save it someone!

Just recieved a NOS Rallye grill for mine last week ... all the way from Hilton, New York! $US77.79 plus $US35.40 AirMail Postage - outbid a last minute sniper by 18 cents!
