GT w/ Optional 8-Track & Limited IMSA Moon Roof!

Complete with option 8-Track Stereo with limited (rare) IMSA Moon Roof. I like the Sellers Rating System: Condition is rated A to G.
Just the ashtray alone could sell for $100 to the right ebay Buyer!

I do like the wheels. They look deeper than mine.

The A70-13 tires themselves aren't that wide, and they're probably mounted on 5.5 inch rims. Those rims look like they are deep dished ones (negative offset) and gives a wider look on the car. There may even be wheel spacers used between the rims and the hubs to further push the wheels out.

Yes, geometry on fronts "appears" to be approaching dangerous, rears though, that might be okay, anything to fill those Steinmetz flares, (on the rear) Should be able to get better fitting (appropriate) slot mags for the front.

Yep, ideally the rear's I'm after would have as much rim on the inside as the out (well, ideally just what's needed to maintain good offset, 10" rim, 4" inboard, 6" outboard, or whatever)
Yes, I now, racing wheels, shut up and pony up the green Jeff.
I did email these guys, I'm thinking Challenger 14", to see if they're streetable, if so, and rubber is available for somethingn like that, cool, no?
Not exactly slot mags but, well, a possibility and darn cheap too. What's the catch? I think they'd look awesome in chrome, no?

Last I had heard Diamond wasn't doing a great job with 4x100mm rims. Seems more than once they sent someone 4x4" and called it 4x100.

But not to worry, if you order from them and it does happen you can send the 4x4" wheels to me to use on my MG.

Supposedly they have a retailer pretty close to me, maybe I'll go through them, then I got some leverage?

    Three things to consider:

    1) These are racing wheels, and are technically not DOT legal. The rim shells tend to be rather thin, so they don't tolerate potholes.
    2) Steel racing wheels are often not very concentric. Heck, most mini-stocks bend wheels every racing weekend, so if they're not perfect when new, who cares? However for road use, a small vibration from a wheel that's not true might drive you nuts. Some brands are better than others, I can't comment on the Diamonds because I have not tried them before.
    3) You MUST buy racing lugnuts to fit these wheels. OEM wheels use a 60 degree taper on the lug nuts. Steel racing 'stock car' type wheels all use a 45 degree taper. If you do not use the correct taper lug nuts, the wheels will crack at the lug nut holes and fail....

Now that I've sufficiently warned you, happy shopping!

A fourth thing! Not as important has the three things previously stated but all the racing lug nuts I've seen require a larger lug wrench or socket than the OEM lug nuts.

Thanks, I did manage to figure that stuff out although the big unknown is will they be usable on the street and still safe. I don't really care what the DOT says, like most government institutions, I don't trust their judgement. I ask people who know, like you guys. Anyone use Diamond wheels on the street, or is it just "common sense" not to use such wheels in a street application?

I have a set of those slotted mags....the rears only. The only problem I found with them is that I'd need to buy spacers to use them.......not.

deep wide ones? I'm sorta hoping I can pick up some like that for rear, something similar looking but geometrically correct for the front. I've always liked those period looking wheels, even before I got the GT I was keeping an eye open for slot mags.

yea...deep and about 9" edge to edge...... problem is that the lugs arent long enough to get a nut on them when the rim is on. I use them to set the car wheels on when I pull motors!!!! Best security I found to be under the car with! Much better than jackstands.

jvandyke, sorry I havn't gotten you any more information on that car/wheels. HOPEFULLY if I can get a trailer, I will be picking it up tomarrow (Friday). I will send you a PM with all the information I can provide, as well as uploading some pictures onto the website. I also know your looking for glass, and I know the PARTS car (not the street/strip) has good glass from what I can remember. I will keep you updated for sure. I am going to be parting out the one car FAST because I need money. Already blew a head gasket and a soft plug in the "Turbo GT"

I don't quite get the lug nut issue. You can't get a lug wrench/socket on the lug nuts? What's the problem, finger tight is good enough I'm sure.
Must be what Harold was talking about in post 12. Just need different lug nuts or wrench or both? That doesn't seem like a big deal.

At least I'm finding out there's some wheels floating around out there that might work.
