    have a look at e-bay - great britain or germany or almost any of the european e-bays , you should get one from there
    not know which engine you have (petrol or diesel )but a quick look found

    eBay.co.uk: VAUXHALL 1.8 ECO ASTRA VECTRA HEAD GASKET VALVES BOLTS (item 110139166505 end time 24-Jun-07 22:46:57 BST)

    Thanks baz, my vectra is a petrol 2.0 ecotech. I thought the prices in the UK would be cheaper but its almost the same as here in Manila. I'll check other sites to make sure.

    Hi baz, I was able to browse more ebay and found that I only needed the gaskets instead of the bolts. So it turns out its much cheaper there. BTW, my wife is in Manchester. What would you suggest? Should I just order it thru ebay and have it sent to her or buy it personally in Manchester? Do you know any good shops in that area?

    Appreciate your help.

    I think this is the 3rd time I tried posting this reply. Anyway, I visited the ebay site and found out I dont need the bolts so it the price is much cheaper than I initially thought. BTW my wife is in Manchester. What would you suggest. Should I just purchase it in ebay and have it sent to her or would you know of any shops that sell the parts in Manchester?

    Bolts!

    You DO need the bolts as Eco-Tec motors, like most modern others, use head bolts that are torqued beyond yield point by a specific procedure involving angles of rotation while tightening them rather than lbs-ft torque wrench value.

    This means that they cannot be reused - so need replacing each time the head is removed. Use once ... and throw away. That is why most head sets sold on EBayUK have bolts included. Look for "Cosieboys" as they have heaps of such stuff.

    I have found Royal Mail to be an extremely good international postage service - if somewhat pricey. Their best value is International Standard Air Mail ... but the parcel must weigh less than 4 lbs - otherwise "Parcel Force" postage rates kick in and they are far higher.

    help with an opel vectra

    hello again from Iraq. i am currently deployed in Iraq and we just acquired an opel vectra, well first off this thing has been beet to death it looks like it still runs but will not idle unless u push on the gas just a little bit when the engine is idling, the trans seems to work ok, the engine needs a little help leaks from almost every where. also i was wondering is there anyway to identify the year on it or even verify the vin number, no vin on the dash or under hood, as well there is no stickers on the door sills or inside of the door or hood to identify the year, im thinking 93 maybe 94. well thats all i really have right now since we just got the vehicle, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    can you post a photo so we can see it to get a model

    or Google images and look through it

    dont worry about year they make the same model for around 5 years before doing any updates this side of the Atlantic so you just need to work out if its an A B or C model

    if its beat up and old i would guess A (opel vectra /vauxhall cavalier)

    the vin stickers on the door are a US thing i think i have never seen them any place else

    is it carb /single point injection /multi point injection / sequential injection

    gas or diesel

    opel vectra

    i looked up some pictures of opel vectra's it is the A series hatch back type, i also got to take a look at it today the wires for the injector which it only has one, so that would be thesingle point injection, but the wires going to the injector have some electrical tape on them i didnt remove it but it looks like someone may have triedto fix them or put a diffrent injector in. it also had little no coolant in the system, so i filled it up with some fresh coolant. it ran alright shifted good, and didnt heat up. well i let somone boroww it today and they drove it then parked it and when they went to get in to leave again the car wouldnt start i havent got a chance to go look at it yet but i think it might be the battery, it sounded like it was going out so im gonna check the charging system and the battery in a little bit. also the engine has alot of built up dirt/oil residue on it i thought about washing it but then ive always heard if u do that all that grime is whats sealing all the little leaks on the gaskets and such. any ideas tips tricks for this car, kinda new with these modern opels it aint like my 72 gt.

    single point inj looks like a carb you will have a multi point or sequential

    they dont run well without coolant ( theres a sensor in the thermostat housing to tell if the coolant is low and it will not run well with that triggered )

    if you need any info on it try vxon (theres a link in the "links to sites" section )
    and look in the cavalier /calibra section

    what engine is in it ? i would guess it is the OHC with the wavy rocker cover and the dizzy coming off the right side of the head( end of head )

    88 to 95 is called Vectra/A

    On the side of the sill inside the car on the floor next to seat you will see on the carpet like one long plastic cover that opens and you can see the chassis number on it

    Now if the chassis is recorded to GM database i can tell you all the data you need

    Now the chassis will be like :

    http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7349/opgmo3.jpg

    Were
    W0L = General Motors
    000087 = 4 Door Saloon
    N = 1992
    1 = Rüsselsheim
    080066 = SERIAL NUMBER
