    Centrifugal advance replacement..

Pulled the distributor on my 1971 GT apart yesterday. I had known since purchasing it that the centrifugal advance unit was not working right, but man..

The previous owner had replaced the condenser screw with a sheet metal screw too long for the housing, and bang. There went the tabs the springs clip to on the outside.

What would be a suitable replacement? I've looked at Bosch units from similar model years from Volvo, VW, etc, but have had no luck finding something interchangeable at all. They all seem to use plastic pins on an irregular base plate, whereas mine is all metal on a roughly rectangular base plate.

Check with Opel GT Source --- Welcome or USA OPEL and see if they have an old distributor they can take the advance plate off, or get another distrbutor for either of them, if they have one. HTH.
