Mine usually reads right at or just a needle's width above or below the half way mark.

FYI - point #9 in this OMC posting gives approximate actual temperatures for each hash mark. The mid-point appears to be about 194 degrees F.

    GT Temp Gauge Reading

My GT temperature gauge reads at approximately 176 degree F marking with 180 degree thermostat installed (belt driven fan).

Mine too. 7 blade fan, no shroud. I've got an auxillary pusher fan in front of the rad but it never kicks in until 5 minutes AFTER I shut her down, so I'm not sure why the PO put it on. Not sure what thermostat is in mine though.

You'd want to match the electric fan setting to the thermostat to get the right result. Doesn't make a lot of sense to keep the resistance of a belt-driven fan with an auxiliary that probably block the works as much as anything. Makes more sense to have one or the other.

Hey Lindsey...thanks for the readings...does anyone have the same temperature equivalents for an ascona/manta gauge??
