Which Way Does the Front Spring Leaf Perch Fit?

Put the front suspension together but just had a funny feeling I put these in wrong. Can't remember which way they came out.

I believe the pictures are showing the rubber part upside down. Need to turn them over. You may want to wait until you get more responses but I am pretty sure they need to be turned over.

I second Roy's opinion, but then I'm not sure without checking that the shown pieces shouldn't go underneath the spring. Since I have a well known history of getting things "backwards", I just shut up.

I guess I was unclear...sorry. I know they go under the spring, that wasn't my question. I was asking about the orientation. Which side goes toward the center of the car, and which side goes toward the outside of the car. It fits both ways.

    Thanks

    I questioned this too

I believe you have them pointed right, I refered to drawings in the service manual plus others I had apart to see which hole recieved the bolt.

Yes on the above. I guess you will need to take the spring out again. I know what it's like to think you got something back together only to find out .... Doooh! Homer Simpson

I like the toes on the second thumbnail.
Don't drop the suspension on them or it won't matter anymore if the rubber parts are upside down or not.

Or this way is correct (second pic). The metal base of the rubber damper fits the suspension frame contour when in its correct position. I'm not sure why there are two holes in the rubber base though. Maybe Opel used this part in more than one application. Jerry

The one's on my Kadett axle are in like in picture 1, but I'm not claiming this is 100% correct.

When we were trying to figure out how the front spring worked, we determined that the part you're questioning might be an adjustment, could go in several different ways for softer or harder spring rate. Don't know for sure.
But I do know this, if you have some extra silver paint left, it would look great on your toenails.

Jerry, you're wrong again. Check the contour of the rubber perch and how it fits between the suspension frame and the spring. So, it's right in the first picture like Dieter suggested. And, another thing, stop talking to yourself, it makes you look even stupider. Jerry

I am pretty sure it is like the first picture, the one on the left.
