    Opel GT wiper water container

    Hello,

I'm looking for a *new* Opel GT wiper water container. Do you know who may sell this ? i don't want a 2nd condition since most of them are damaged or the plastic color has been altered.

    Thanks a lot, Bye

The only place that would even come close would be Susselbeek/Parsget

I've cleaned one or two and was pleasantly surprised at how nice they turned out.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your help.

I was at Suselbeek one month ago and he only has 2nd hand containers unfortunately. The one i saw was worse than mine

One latest question. With what can you wash them to obtain a better look ? i've tried lots of different products and never could reach a color close the original state.

    Thanks a lot, Bye

I'd try cleaning yours. Do a search, there was a thread about various cleaning methods. Mine was nasty looking, I cleaned it up with some bleach, degreasers, and detergents. It doesn't look brand new, but it definitely looks good now.

I used Plastic & Plexiglass Cleaner & Light Scratch Remover by Blue Magic. Results were good. It didn't make the plastic look new, but it certainly reduced the yellowing and removed dirt & grease.

    Chromed Washer Bottle

I cleaned the washer bottle first.
I soaked my washer bottles, shock tower caps and brake fluid container, in very hot water with bleach/ vinegar for about 1/2 hour.
Then Dryed and blew out all the water. turned almost white again. I know a guy who will chrome plate plastic, I gave him two bottles to chrome for me w/ tops, and some other stuff.
They came out great, the only thing is that the engine heat turn the color bronze (gold), but matches w/ yellow car. The bottles look real good too if you paint them gloss black.
    Hope that helps

    Alternative washer bottle?

I would really like at some point to have a crisp, clean white washer bottle. Mine isn't bad - I even ran it through the dishwasher a couple times which helped. But, it is far from "nice". While searching eBay I came across this Volvo P1800 bottle that looks like it would fit (although no diameter is given). This particular one is too dirty but I thought maybe the Volvo P1800 folks have a reproduction part available. Anyone out there try a Volvo P1800 bottle or have a Volvo P1800 that could be used to check for fit in a GT?

The body shop that did my car also does a lot of P1800's, next time I stop in I will ask if he has any washer bottles kicking around.

These two are new, and round but might be taller. Might be the same bottle with a different top. You could always go off grid and find a nice square one. Maybe Keith or Juan can help. They might have seen a good amount of bottles and can recommend one that would fit the space nicely.

New Washer Bottle on German eBay

For those interested, there is a new washer bottle for GT on German eBay. Seller is accepting PayPal. Multiply price with 1.3 to convert it to US Dollars.

Thanks Harold for fixing the link.
Ten bidders already and current price is at 16.50 Euros (close to $22). At least the sellers is accepting PayPal - not common in Germany.

Thanks for the link! Now, everyone else stop bidding please...

    Thanks Tony - good alternatives!

The Austin Healey BJ8 bottle is way small, but about the same height. I believe it only has a one ended plastic fitting, meaning no tee if I recall. Also that blue lable is the way they come, cannot remove

Thanks for the additional info Keith. It sure would be nice if there was an inexpensive reproduction washer bottle for our Opels. I'm thinking something cheap enough that once one yellows or fades, you pitch it and get another one.

Starting with the hottest water I can get from the tap, I have had great results soaking bottles, caps and hoses with a few tablespoons of oxyclean for a couple of days.
