That's a great stretch of road, Hallgeir, and the music isn't bad either. Great 9 minutes of fun.

It sure is a nice road to drive. Every time I drive it, I have a big smile on my face all the time. If the ears didn`t block it, I think it would go all the way around my head.

That`s right, no center line on the narrow roads. I`m not sure why, but I did read something about people are driving more carefully on the narrow roads when there isn`t a center line.

I noticed a Saab, either a 9-3 or 9-5 went past you in the other direction. It is nice to see other cars from all around the world.

    Great video!

That was a 9-3. As far as I know, it`s built on the same platform as the Opel Vectra. You probably know more than me about that. Don`t think it can beat your turbo-V6-wild-animal, but i think it`s a nice car.
Glad you liked the video. My wife doesn`t see the point in making a video like this, but then I tell her: There are things in this world that you`ll never understand. But those people out there that enjoys taking an old sports car for a drive, will.

If it was a 9-3 Aero, it would beat me in no time. Mine is a low pressure turbo, but it is pleanty of power for me.

I'm not going to touch your wife's statement

Again, I think your video will give a lot of people the incentive to finish their project and hit the road.

Yes, the Aero is a fast car, but you won`t see many of them around here. An example: Saab 9-3 2.8T V6 Aut. Aero Cab: NOK 898400.00 or USD 167315.00

neuropel has made a donation to the forum!

A former co-worker of mine had a 9-5 Aero that was pretty quick and handled very nicely, but he ended up taking it back in numerous times because the suspension wouldn't stay in adjustment - kinda weird. Anyone else ever hear of that? The suspension would begin to sag over the course of a few weeks. He'd notice it starting to drag going over this one bump in his driveway. When he got it back it would be fine for a couple of weeks and then start doing it again.

    Yes, why so much?

Tax, tax and more tax. And then some tax again. I`m not sure exactly how it works, but there`s tax on HP, motor-volume and the cars weight in addition to tax on the cars price. For some strange reason, here a car is still a "luxury item". Just like 80 years ago.

The 9-5 rear suspension is prone to wearing out, but your friend's case is strange.

There are a few of us Saab owners here. I guess we can't break our ties with our true love of Opels so we have to go under cover. We also hide our obsession with Saturn L-300's, Caddy Catera's and we can't forget the Pontiac LeMans from the '80s.

Uh oh, thread creep. At least these cars are related to Opels.

Let's watch that video again and enjoy!

Yes, why so much? Part 2.

Seems like we are a bit off track here, but the world needs to know this :

    An example:

    New car 2007,

    Weight: 1640 kg
    CO2: 177 g/km
    Engine power: 125 kW

    -------------------------------------------------------
    Base for calculation of VAT:
    Taxfree price: NOK 135000.00 ~ USD 25184.00 ~ EUR 17494.00
    + Shipping etc.: NOK 2500.00 ~ USD 466.00 ~ EUR 324.00
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Total: NOK 137500.00 ~ USD 25650.00 ~ EUR 17818.00
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    VAT (25%): NOK 34375.00 ~ USD 6412.00 ~ EUR 4454.00
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Weight tax: NOK 94192.00 ~ USD 17571.00 ~ EUR 12205.00
    + CO2 tax: NOK 27234.00 ~ USD 5080.00 ~ EUR 3529.00
    + Engine power tax: NOK 62607.00 ~ USD 11679.00 ~ EUR 8113.00
    + VAT: NOK 34375.00 ~ USD 6412.00 ~ EUR 4454.00
    + Recycling tax: NOK 1300.00 ~ USD 242.00 ~ EUR 168.00
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Total tax: NOK 219708.00 ~ USD 40984.00 ~ EUR 28469.00
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    + Taxfree price NOK 135000.00 ~ USD 25184.00 ~ EUR 17494.00
    + Shipping etc. NOK 2500.00 ~ USD 466.00 ~ EUR 324.00
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
