Clutch cable problem

The other day I went to put my car in gear and the clutch pedal went right to the floor . I check under the car to see if the cable came loose, and It didn't. I pop the hood of the car and I see this. It seems like washers and a cable faster hold the clutch cable to the firewall, But I can't figure out how to put the thing back together. The cable (now) is loose and the clutch don't work! Is there supposed to be a bolt here or sumthin? Cuz where you see in pic 1 If I fasten it there on the black part of the cable, its not tight enough. But it don't fit over the metal part.

There is a C-clip which holds the plastic parts up against the firewall piece and takes the slack out of the clutch pedal. That donut clap is not supposed to be there. You need the c-clip but can get by with a hose clamp. Some people use the hose clamp as a fail safe anyway.

you pull that cable as tight as you can. your pulling the cable towards the radiator. Then when you can't get any tighter push all the stuff into place and put the clip on the closest slot by the firewall. If that makes sense. You pull dont push the cable.

IIRC that is a 9/16" C-Clip, get more than one and put them in the grooves behind (actually in front) of the one you use for the adjustment. It has been inferred that they do get lost in the previous posts.

Don't pull it as tight as you can but just enough so that the clutch pedal is against its upper stop. If it's too tight it might partially disengage and wear the disk.

Yeah I tried pulling it as tight as I can( with the use of the u bolt for now). Well Im a tall guy 6'1'' and it still pop out. I gave it sum slak and it works ok for now but I'll probly change the cable cuz its pretty worn out, the cable inside is having trouble movin in and out in the first place. probly sand.
