I would suggest loop. It is real close to the original carpet, and looks a lot better IMO. Cut pile tends to look messy at times, and is a lot harder to keep clean!
Hope this helps!
I am looking to buy the complete carpet kit off Opel gt source, but do no know what one to get. Sould I get the loop or cut pile?![]()

Yeah I been wondering that myself, whats the difference between loop and cut pile? What the cut pile is a bunch of small sections?

oh lolI was totally off what I was thinkin, thanks
I have the cut pile and really like it. More plush looking and have no prioiblems keeping it clean. Loop is exactly what it sounds like...its made of of loops. Kind of like a miniature version of BERBER carpet. Loop is more like the original if you are trying to go that route.

My Opel doesn't just turn heads...it breaks necks!!
Exactly as everyone else said. Loop is strands of carpet that form a 'loop'. This is a 'tougher' kind of carpet, not as soft, but a cleaner look.. like I said. Cut Pile is your softer feeling carpet like you would find in most houses. Pictures taken of actual Opel carpet, although the grey cut pile is not original. I am practicing Macro shots with my Digital Camera
Pictures are worth 1000 words..!

Im going to have to go with the cut pile, not totally original, but it looks better in my opinion. Thanks for the picture the really helped![]()
I always thought that the original loop carpet looked better and more durable as long as it is a dense loop. Visually, the cut pile looks fuzzy. The loop looks more trim and uniform in appearance. The loops might also reflect light differently and look "brighter". The cut pile usually looks dull and a "flatter" color to me. To me the loop carpet always looked more expensive.

Loop carpeting is what the car originally came with and will keep that genuine look to the car.
Cut pile is more plush and up to date looking, however depending upon the quality of the carpet it may shed for a while.
As far as loop carpet looking better? That depends on if you want a vintage sport coupe or a customized sport car... When was the last time you saw LOOP carpet on a new BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche?
