    door removal

A little help! I am trying to remove the doors from my 69 gt, but after removing the six bolts, (3 top, 3 bottom) the door still seems to hang up and not want to come out. any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks

I've always removed the door from the hinge first, and then removed the hinges after that. The problem is the hinges don't come straight out. I think they go in at an angle and then straighten out. To remove the door from the hinge you have to remove the door panel and then the two hex bolts. They can sometimes be on there really tight. I had to use a 1/2" drive socket with a hex key bit to get my last set of doors out, and still bent several hex bits doing so.

    .... and ....

Before you remove the doors from the hinge scratch around then with a scriber so you know where the factory had them adjusted to make re-install easier.
