"This is a 1969 Opel GT with the very rare 1100 engine, and was one of only 342 cars imported into the USA with this engine, all during the first year of production. Surprising performance with great handling and excellent fuel efficiency (magazines used to report 40+ mpg for this model), make this version the most collectible of all Opel GTs.
This is a straight and totally rust-free Idaho car, with only two previous owners. In fact it may be the cleanest unrestored GT 1100 in the country. Old repaint in metallic blue (was originally British Racing Green) with original Saddle Tan interior. This will be a fine daily driver or weekend car with some minor TLC, or would be the perfect basis for a full restoration to original specification.

    1970 opet gt 1900

Hello, Recently picked up an Opel GT. It's a 1970 and it's the 1900. Hardly any rust. Solid Colorado car. New exhaust. Some idiot put a wing on the back sometime in the 80's. Set under a cover car since 99. I never got a key with the car. My big questions is this: is the ignition key the same key as the door key? Yes, I did get a title. And yes it will be for sale after I get it running. I want to hear it run. That's the fun part for me. Mostly original and not bad. Red in color. Richard in Colorado.

Yes your door and ignition key are the same. Key to gas cap is separate.

Oh yeah and I made a mistake when posting this FYI add, the ad was placed on Craigslist in SF, CA but the car appears to be in IDAHO.

I saw this one yesterday on SF craigslist and got excited. I thought, "B-town", where's that? ... maybe it's a typo and he meant "P-town" .... oh yeah, that's my town! Nope, "B-town" means Boise, Idaho. Dang, to far for me. But, at $2450 it looks like a good deal.

You might consider uship.com..they will pick up a car, drive it to your door. All you do is post bids. The lowest bid, you accept. I purchased a car from New Hampshire and had it driven to Colorado. That's where I reside. And idaho by the way, isn't far from me. Thanks for the info about the key. Much appreciated. Rich

I purchased my Opel for 500. It isn't bad. I will get a key in the next day or so and get it running. Pretty much complete, just no key. I'll take a lock out of a door and take it to a locksmith. cheers. Rich

No, Berkeley is commonly referred to as Berserkely. I found out through a couple of links that B-town was in reference to Boise, Idaho.

Rare 1969 1100 GT FOR SALE

IS anyone still interested in a running 1100 69 GT I have one I am pretty much ready to part with. It is red with black interior. I bought this car in 1986 and it has been garaged since then. Was striped to bare metal and painted in the 80's. Mostly original, headlights roll over with one finger. Very straight body but paint showing age. Pretty much complete. Fuel sender broken, clock broken. But a real strong rare configuration gt that would be a great restoration project. The engine runs and has an aftermarket electronic ignition module. It has around 100,000 original miles on it with no rebuild and it shows. Some water and oil leaks. I would not recommend this as an out of town driver at this point. Watch Craig's list for it soon... I will post here too.
