The floorboard frame is halfway complete. Just need to add a couple more things then all i have to do is lay some sheet metal on it then my passanger side will be done.
I just picked up a chicago mig 100 welder from a good buddy of mine for 50 bucks. And started to assemble a frame for my new floorboards. Hoping to give it a lot of added strength and safety. And with a idea of using a bed of a truck instead of sheet metal to lay over the modified frame for that ripple effect that it had before.
I got about half of the frame pieces made for the passanger side already. After i finish all the pieces on the frame im gonna tac it all together and see if i like the results if i do like it i will finish welding it and then worry about finding a old truck bed.
You guys think the bed of a truck is a good idea. From putting some thought into i think i will have a fairly nice floorboard in the car.
It feels good to get a little opelitous back after about a 7 month "vacation" from the opel. The passanger side should be done hopefully within a month as long as i have the time to mess with it. I will take pictures of the finished floorboards but none until then. Then i get started on the drivers side.
I can't wait to finish my 1972 Opel Gt.... So I can buy another one and start all over again!
