Antique and Classic Car Show 2008

Last year only one Opel was in the show, a 1974 Manta Rallye. Even though this fantastic show is worth attending on its own, to help encourage more Opel participation, I will buy a crabcake sandwich for every person who shows up with their Opel, and parks it on the field near my car. Need more incentive?

Anyway, hope some of you can attend..............let the nation's capital know that Opels matter.

I have been attending the Rockville Car Show since it's beginning in the early 1960's. If the weather is good, it is a fantastic show. I shared the antique car hobby with my dad, and for many years we showed our 1915 Hudson and 1925 Ford T there. In later years, I showed my 69 GTO also. I now have a 70 Opel GT. It is not really a show car, but I might just take you up on your offer if they will let me in with it!

I just checked my calendar and I can't make the Rockville Car Show. My son is a singer songwriter, and his band is playing that day at the Jim Beam Bourbon Festival at Arundel Mills Mall. Maybe next year!

Guys: Thanks for at least thinking about this great show. This is a people's choice event, so less than concours cars are welcomed/encouraged. Good luck at the game/concert!
