    remembering doing donuts

    My GT stays inside also almost all winter.....but I do remember back when I was 19 (when I owned my first GT in 1978) I used to work at a shopping mall and was one of the first to arrive in the morning. After a nice snowfall I would barrel down the empty parking lot and yank the wheel hard left (or right) and see how many revolutions I could get.....ahhhhh memories....

    Y'all are all excited, you just got our tailings.
    I woke up to 8" of snow and no electricity. This warranted a trip to Shoney's Breakfast Bar. Upon arriving home we were to discover that the power was back on.

    Hey;
    It's not bothering me. I'm sitting here watching DVD's on my laptop, with a mug of hot apple cider, and enjoying myself.

    Rare opportunity to post here...

    My GT was a Michigan car and saw its fair share of snow in its early years. Now, however, this is as close as the GT will ever come to seeing snow again having taken the covered parking that used to be occupied by the Oldsmobile (which can be seen shivering in the background...).

    Here's another one from HotLanta. We had 4" accumulated on the lawn by 6pm, the picture was taken earlier. We had about 2 hours of power outage, but I had my generator running.

    Southern Mid TN

    Further north only got a dusting. These pictures were taken in the afternoon after the snow had already started melting some. The white lumps beside the shop are GT's and the one in the forefront that you can actually see what color it is, is an Ascona.

    Hey Bob, you have a parking light out What kind of rims are those? They look like space saver rims from the spare tires on newer cars

    Well, you should think that taking a pic of an Opel in the snow should be no problem here in Norway, but where I live, we haven`t got much snow at all, so here`s a pic from last year.

    Better grip on snow and ice with those than you`d have with wider tires.

    You guys and your snow....
    We get more snow here in California than our northern states; we're just smart enough to put it up in the mountains where we can play in it, but not have to live and work in it.

    I must admit I feel a bit whimpish because I keep the GT garaged and will not drive it in the rain. Right now we are into our rainy season (winter). But to counter-act the whimpishness, we were out in the rain & mud 12 hours yesterday for a practice exercise on our Search & Rescue ATVs. We figure there's no sense training in good weather as no one ever seems to get lost on a beautiful day before nightfall. Wouldn't that be nice for once?

    I have to admit, those photos of restored Opels against new snow look beautiful; like Christmas morning with a new bicycle under the tree.
