    window channel gasket

While discussing the body and paint work I'll eventually want done on my car I was told that in order for this to be properly done the windows need to come out. I was also told that I would need to start looking for the window gaskets (front and rear). Does anyone know if I can reuse what I already have? I'd much rather get new ones but I'm fairly certain there are none available. I'd like to be wrong.

Are you talking about window channels and gaskets for a 1900?

BTW, I know of a 1900 wagon in a wrecking yard if you need anything off of it. PM me if there is something in it you need.

You will want to replace them if possible. I know in the GT's everything is so much tighter seal wise and the windows roll much easier. It's one of those things, you have a nice car and upon closer inspection all the window seals are cracked or siliconed to prevent leaks. To me the car isn't finished if the seals aren't new or like new. It's only money!

For the front and rear windshield gaskets, go to :

This has to be the best forum I've ever had to pleasure to be a part of. I'll tell you, you guys (especially BQS4) are awesome. Yes, I'm talking about a 1900 (what gave it away? my screen name or where I posted the topic? ). A 2 door sedan to be exact. I agree with you Harold, new is definitely the way to go. Even if I wasn't getting the car painted I'd want to replace the window gaskets. I don't want to get too far off topic but has anyone ordered from Dr. Manta? If so, how was the process/experience/shipping? I should probably do a search on them here huh? They appear to be a great resource for exactly what I need.

If you get an order ready for Dr. Manta let me know I'll need a bunch of stuff down the road myself.

Did you get the car from the mechanic yet? When you do shoot me a PM and maybe I can get you to take a ride down to my shop. I'm sure a few people would take a ride over to see your car. My plan is to be there every weekend until Carlisle, tonight I actually starter removing paint.

I just read the other thread!!!!

No problem. This is a bit down the road for me too but I'd like to get it done before Carlisle in May. By the way Dave, I got you something to decorate your garage but as you know I never got a chance to make it to the meet. Maybe I can take a cruise down your way when my car is done and give it to you (as long as it's cool with you). I'd like someone with an eye for Opels to take a look at my car also. I'm thinking I may need more than just these window gaskets from Dr. Manta.

Funny how we are both editing our comments at the same time.
