    Drivers Side Rear Fender Arch

    Hello,

Does anyone have a Rear drivers side fender arch they would be willing to part with(or the whole fender and I can trim what I need). The one on my car is really mangled (beneath 2" of filler). With its compound curves I don't think I will be able to fix it- and I would rather not be a bondo sculpter- probably easier to graft in a new arch.

    Thanks,

    Nathan

    GT?

If so I might have a new German patch panel.

My '73 GT had a similar issue, and much of the rear quarter panel was dented in too. One alternative that worked miracles for me is to pull the dented area out using a stud gun such as from - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

You may go through a lot of studs in the process but they're inexpensive. When you're finished you'll have minimal "Bondo sculpting" to do to level things out - possibly no more than if you weld in a replacement panel.

GT? There are other Opels besides the GT? (I kid).

Yes, for a GT, my bad. New German panel sounds pretty good. If you are willing to part with it, send me a PM> hopefully it is not worth more than the car.

    Thanks,

This is a definite possibility, and I have wanted to get a stud gun for a while now. I'm not quite sure I have the skill to re-create those compound curves, but I am half decent at stitch welding a decent patch.

IIRC, they used to cost $60-$70 or so new. Whatever it cost me it would cost you, I'm not going to inflate it to cover the dollar/Euro exchange rate!

Sounds reasonable to me. Do you have a pic? just so I can be sure it covers the area that I need.

If so I'd be glad to get a money order out (you don't do Paypal, Right?)

    Thanks

I don't have any pics. But it's the same item that Parsget (now Suselbeek) used to sell. I'll measure the coverage area tonight. I can take a pic but by the time I dowload it and post it a week will have passed. I have to borrow a friend's computer to do that, mine at home is dead and the one I'm using right now won't allow me to download/upload anything.

I recently did set up a Paypal account. Just don't know how to use it yet. I can order something online from a merchant, but as far as an individual transaction I have no idea. They don't describe the 'how-to's' very well on the Paypal site.

    Bob;
Not to take this off topic, but, you just give the person who is going to send you money your PayPal address and they send it from their PayPal account. When you get it, you have the option to use it on Ebay or whatever merchant uses PayPal, or you can transfer the money to your bank account, for free (no fee) takes about 3-4 days

So, Paypal address being my email address I'm guessing?
