There is an GT Promo on ebay right now. It has a chrome shifter in the interior of the car. I have 8 of these promos and not one of them has a shifter. Are all my cars missing the shifter or is his an oddball?

Was a Manta A or Ascona A dealer promo sold back in the day?
I searched on google but found nothing.
Thanks.

Since it was suggested to me that the chrome shifter was added from an AMT Opel GT kit, I decided to investigate a bit by using my years of modeling
skills to remove the bottom and check it out.![]()
First off, the chrome shifter does look much like the one in the current OGTS kit.
Also, the interior tub has a boss on the bottom of the tunnel for the shifter as can be seen in the pictures, and the factory welding of the interior tub boss shows no signs of being of being re-welded which would have been necessary if the chrome shifter had been added after leaving the factory.
To me it appears to be as manufactured by AMT. Of course I can't be 100% sure, obviously.
I'd be interested if any of the other GT promos have this molded plastic boss but do not used it for the shifter.
Anyway, the model is near perfect condition and is a great addition to my
Model Opel collection being the first promo in it.
Btw: The seller tells me he will soon be placing a green 1970 AMT Opel GT promo on ebay.
He is a longtime promo collector and is thinning out his collection in his golden years.

Is it possible to just superglue the shifter in?
Karl
How much is an Opel GT kit worth....?
Built, complete, unpainted, AMT.
