The plate is wzr 614 old irish plates
Can anybody help me? I live in Ireland. A couple of years ago my dad had a blue Opel Kadett D SR. If anybody knows where I can track it down or find some info on it I would greatly appreciate it because I want to get it restored as a big birthday present. Thanks!

The number is southern Irish reg. possibly Cork, there is no way to track this car ,that is unless you know a member of the Gardai(Irish Police) and he can run a make on the reg. This is the only way to find this info, you will not be able to go to any old station and request this info as it will not be given, you will have to be on friendly terms with him/her as you can probably tell this would be illegal.
Hope this helps![]()
Further,
These cars rusted like hell, and most of them were trashed to within of their lifes.
A lot of them went to the scrappies after the Government scrappage scheme of about 10 years ago.
To show how rare they are, the DVLA in England has only 1 on their books as being Taxed and on the road as compared to the more powerful model, the GTE, were there are 83 still on the road.
In Ireland I know of only 1 on the road , which is mine,
and I know of one in Dublin area(not on road) which is a metallic brown color and originally came from England.
This is mine

Funny you should be looking for one today as this one just came up for sale this evening.

they are rare in GB mainly because at the time the D was coming out opel had withdrawn or was in the process of withdrawing from the uk market leaving vauxhall to have the place to themselves as the only differences were badges by this time , look for vauxhall astra's and theres a bunch of them every where you trip over
i dont know if opel kept selling in northern ierland at this time
