    Deutsche Classic 2009

It is that time of year again. The Deutsche classic in Fleetwood, PA will commence on Saturday July 11th, 2009. Timemachine(Jim) found this event a few years back and we had a great showing last year. The price of admission includes a BBQ Chicken Dinner. I had a blast last year. There was even a "Herbie" the love bug there.

Here is a link to the site for information, Deutsche Classic | Mid Atlantic's Premier All-German Automotive Event.

I will not be able to make it this year as I have a scouting event "Cub World" at Green Lane, PA at the same time.

I hope others will come and show their support of German Cars.

I will definitely try to make it again this year - it's a great location for a show; plenty of shade to escape from the July sun.

I was planning on being there, however after checking the schedule, I will be at Giants Despair hillclimb that weekend.

I was just about to bump this myself. I will be there.

Oh, and Roger, I think they have three awards for Opels this year.

opellane has made a donation to the forum!

I am thinking about going , but depends on the weather and or forecast.
It's been raining everyday here. I never been to a "All" German Car Show.
Sounds pretty cool and dinner is included.

Weather permitting, I will be there. Jim, I'll have those tray inserts for you. Refresh my memory, do you have an automatic or manual? I'll bring enough material and templates to make a few just in case anyone else wants them too.

    Hey gang,

Weather for Fleetwood next Sat. (so far) is sunny, high 86 and 10% chance of precipitation. Don't know where you've been lately Mike, weather here has been great last four days. This will be my 4th year at this event, weather has been perfect every time (knock on wood).

Looks like so far we have me, Rick, Roger, Mike, Brian and hopefully Dave (c'mon Dave!) to rep our Opels, we had nine last year, I encourage others to join this nice event and stand proud for Russelsheim in a large impressive field of German iron.

Brian, mine's a manual as you should know by the souveniers passed out in April, but thanks in any case.

    Chicken dinner!

Weather permitting!!!! As far as I know the rainwater won't hurt your car. I can hear your car now, "I'm melting"

Actually the rain does hurt my car. I have a rear panel that is rusting away at an alarming rate and driving in the rain makes it worse. I also have yet to replace the rubber seals around the windows so there is a bit of leaking. I also don't want to drive two and half hours in the rain just to sit under a tent all day. One last concern is that if it's hot and raining I can't drive with the windows down. Without AC it's kinda unbearable but I'll probably be there.

Such doom and gloom, this ain't the Russian front. It's all about kameraden at the Deutsche Classic! It's not about sitting in a tent, (we don't have one) it's who's in the tent we don't have! Rain is still unlikely. Let us know what leaks or rusts and we'll all help out.

Are we going to have a car club space? Also, I would like my car to be in the show field with the rest of the Opels but not judged. Do they do that there or do I have to pay $25 to be in the show field and have it judged anyway?

Whoever gets there first (probably Roger) will find a spot for us to park together in the shade. If you don't open your hood they won't judge your car but you can't get on the field unless you pay the entry fee. They throw in a chicken dinner.

It's right there to look up. $15 to walk in without a car, $25 to get on the field with your car. Both include lunch. If you're hurting that bad, we'll or I'll be happy to make up the difference for you.

Otherwise, I will get back to the simple point of hoping many PA-area Opelers will come out, represent our badge and have a fun day at the Deutsche Classic under sunny skies (hopefully and likely) with a lot of nice German cars in Fleetwood which is all that is important here.

It has always been a very good time and I hope you will join us.

Fortunately I'm not hurting quite that bad. I just need to put it in the budget. Thanks for the offer though.
