I've just about finished refurbishing the DCOE 45 that I picked up on E-Bay last month. I've got the jets that I will be starting with. This will be going on my SSD manifold in place of my Solex.
I've been looking at options for the linkage. I want a top mount system and have found mostly the ones below online. I prefer picture # 1 but by the time I get it it will be $150. Just thought I'd see if anyone has a good alternative or home-built solution for a dcoe.
If there are any photos of a set-up, I'd love to see it.

Still looking for throttle options at this point. I'm going to mock something up in the next few days. I hadn't thought too much about the port matching so I'll pull the assembly and see what needs to be done. Any thoughts about how far down the runners to start blending?

the third picture in the first post is the best. we sell that. it does not rely on any manifold mounting and everything is on the carb

All three of those you pictured above have both dual cables and dual return springs - this is a very important redundancy to guard against failure of either openning or, more importantly, closing of the throttle.
BTW: Most Bosch type fuel injection throttles have nice cable connecting quadrants that can be scavenged to use as the hardest to make part of the system. The bit the carb end of the cable wraps around and anchors to that is very easily seen in Otto's setup.

Here is the linkage I made for the DCOE.
My first effort that was similar to the one in my first post that attaches to the carb cover had interference issues with the hood hooks. This one is much cleaner.
There's a video for the sound of the 2.4 stroker and the motion. Sorry about the choppy video...... Also some pics of the detail.
BTW - this carb has dramatically woken up the engine! I took it for a spin and the torque is crazy compared to stockThe throttle is a bit touchy so will take a light foot.
Next up is the carb-intake matching and the CAI a la Tekenaar. I already have the bits for that.

You are right regarding improved performance. I put DSD Webers the other day. I just can't get over the huge improvement. This is not the same car!
Nicely done carb linkage. I would like to see the pic of the other side of linkage at the gas pedal. I made the adjustable one, so it is possible to adjust the stroke of the linkage. This prevents unnecessary stress on the linkage cable after you reach full throttle opening as the gas pedal comes to the floor at the same time.
Done. Your set-up is certainly more robust than mine, but I've been running it all summer without issue. (Also, having the bracket mounted to the head has not caused any fluctuation at idle as some feared).
Next question - where did you get that valve cover breather? It looks better than the rag I have stuffed in mine![]()
