    Dash Wiring Rebuild

    Hey Everyone!

I rebuilt my dash wiring for my GT on the weekend and I decided to make a video that is kind of a tutorial or how-to of sorts. It may not be a very efficient use of time, but I think that I kind of get the point across. I'll try to make a scripted tutorial in a while, but for now, here is my video:

As a result of this venture, I now have all of the measurements for the wires in the dash harness (for a '73 at least), and if enough people are willing, I will make a jig that would let me make multiple harnesses all very neatly. Now, I didn't invest in the multitude of different wires that opel did, but I have six different colors of varying sizes along with marking tape which lets me accurately reproduce the color patterns. Either respond here PM me if you would like to have a harness made.

I wish I knew someone who makes thousands of wiring harnesses.
I have a machine thats really cool but I don't have use for it anymore.
You put in a measurement, set a desired quantity, insert wire and it will cut till its done.

It was fun to play with but I just wish I had a use for it.

I'm actually working on one of those right now just as a side-project. I'm using plans from here:

Automatic Wire Cutter and Stripper by oomlout - Thingiverse

    Cool stuff and pretty cheap

Yeah, the problem is mine only cuts wire but its an industrial model. Its a workhorse that could cut wire on a duty cycle of 24/7 and not fail. It might need the jaws sharpened once a year or something though.
