    I don't understand a word besides "Opel Kapitän", I'm not even sure about the language. Who can help out?

    What's with all the Opel Kapitan songs? I clicked on 2 other videos and they had different songs, all about the Kapitan.
    Needs a 2dr Ascona, everyone else has one.

    Back in Europe as a child I remember 1951 Opel Kapitäns (yes, I am that old). Somehow, most of them were in black colour. It was pretty much an upscale and larger model of Opel Olympia from the same period. Here are few pictures that I found on Internet.

    The people who posted the video on You Tube appear to be Swedish. Swedish is one of the huge number of languages of which I know almost nothing, but the first few words sound like Swedish to me. Did you hear the several mentions of "Opel Rekord" in the lyrics? Bill

    I have a Swedish contact (the fellow I bought my Rekord P2 Coupe from), and I sent him the song. He said that it is Swedish. The lyrics are about the greatness of the Kapitän and how superior it is to other cars, including the Opel Rekord. Bill

    they probably made a song about that since they probably didn't have any 409's running around back then. and i'm sure ther is no Pasedena, Sweden thus no little old lady either
