    Key Identification

    Hi,
my Manta only came with one key and I'm looking to get a spare made. (I misplace things all the time!) Opel GT Source has 2 blanks OP11 & OP19. I'm not sure which blank is for my car. Help would be appreciated.
    thanks!

If you can get the numbers off the lock itself, Keith (opelspyder) may be able to cut you one, if not, there's always the "trial-an-error" method of the "Can of Keys"

That key is an OP11, most Mantas are this style cut or "CC" as they had codes up to 3000 variations. Less likely to match those keys. With that key you could pull the ignition and get a code, I could do a dealer cut for you. Anyways I suggest the ignition as the door handles are a little tight getting out for the code

what type of key and tumbler

This is NOS. I bought it off of ebay for my gt. Is it for a gt or a manta? paper says the part number is 90094174. it looks like a manta to me. What do you think?

It looks to be a GT, as the Manta (at least 74-75) has a metal push lever to release it, as the GT and Kadett has that push button found on the side there. Some had that plastic bezel, and some were potmetal. The Manta for 70-73 may be the same or very similar as the GT.

    key code

Keith: yes it has a push button on the side. The bezel is plastic. "BB741" is stamped on the side. Is that a code you can cut? Does that code verify this as a gt lock?
thank you! If this is indeed a gt lock...I have beeen needing a fully functioning one for years

The code says nothing about what model it could be to. GT could have been BB or CC prefix to the code. No higher than BB750 and the CC probably up to 1800. Not verified that though. I think it should work for the GT, but there were the two styles. Seems like one wouldn't fit in the other, say an early to late. I did some changes one time to get an NOS switch to fit a column I had for a car, still wasn't right, but cannot recall exactly what I did. I will look back, but Kadett.

If your key is still ok, any hadware store should be able to cut you a copy. Might not look exactly the same, but will work.
I have done this with even newer car keys, and never had a problem.
