Thread: Lexan window source

    Lexan window source

I recently bought an Opel GT drag race car with a full chassis, fiberglass body panels and Lexan windows. The Lexan has some cracks and is scratched in some places. Does anybody know where I can buy Lexan glass replacements? I know that the side windows and rear glass are flat. But does anyone know if the front windshield can be fabricated from flat Lexan panels?

Any help will be gladly appreciated.

There's a place by me that does various sheet plastics from Plexiglass to Lexan.

I don't know if they ship or what they can do to fabricate a front windshield for you.

Some of the other areas, such as Southern California might be a better place to try.

    Good luck.

I don't know if anyone out there races a Ascona Sedan, but, in keeping with this thread of lexan glass for Opels, here's an auction on the German Ebay for a complete set of lexan glass for an Ascona Sedan.

I got excited there for a moment until I looked at the date on Gene's post!!

I see your not in the US, but I've been working on a project and am using plexiglas. I picked it up from Home Depot, and I saw they also had sheets of Lexan for a decent price. If you have a home depot or store like that around you, check it out.

I believe the largest size they had in stock was 4'x6', but could order pieces up to 8'x8' and thickness ranging from 1/16" to 1".

You will have to get the curved pieces formed, but at least you will save a bunch on shipping.
