The DCNF is downdraft but you'd need an adapter to go to a stock intake. do you have any pics of it?

Cast 40 DCNF, 2 inj. Dual
body kit with, fittings, stacks,
TPS, reg, levers
would this throttle body fit onto a 1.9 gt, and anthor qustion would it work well on a basicly stock motor?

Let me chime in for a second. I can barely spell fuel injection, but earlier in this thread you were looking for someone to solder a bunch of stuff up. I'm a fairly hard-core computer geek, and I'm no stranger to soldering electronics (I did a lot of EE on my way to CS). I used to do a fair bit of robotics etc. and I know how to make things hold together during heavy use/vibration. I've also done a fair bit of surface-mount PCB population.
I'll probably pick Dave's brain regarding fuel injection vs. dual carbs. . . I'm thinking that fuel injection, properly set up, probably demands less day-to-day tinkering, which would be a bonus in my book.
Regardless of my direction, if you need sombody who can follow a wiring diagram, knows a diode from a resistor, and can solder I'll volunteer some hours.
All best,
Mike

I'm trying to get an idea of how much (total) setting up EFI is likely to set me back when it's all done, but my ignorance is astounding. So, the Megasquirt kit is pretty reasonable, but I'd still need some sort of manifold, fuel pump, fuel rail and whatever sensors this set-up requires (O2, MAF ????). Does anyone have a ballpark estimate of what the whole conversioin would cost? For the record, I'm broke, and live near good junkyards. Thanks, and sorry to be a drain on the brain trust -- I'm learning, honest!![]()
I like that price but for me personally I'd like the group buy. I'd put it together myself. At some point before I build another motor I'll be doing this so I can have the intake and exhaust done first so I'll know what kind of motor to build. I was rereading this thread and it looks like with me included the number is maybe 5 or 6 buyers and about as many assemblers.
Megasquirt can be used on any fuel injection system. It can be as easy as scavaging a simple all-in-one TBI system, with sensors and wires off a junker and bolting to a stock intake, or as complicated as converting mechanical fuel injection to electronic, or even built from scratch systems. You choose your comfort level. Note that fuel rails require some special tools.
Are we any closer here to getting a group buy together, or should we wait until after the holidays when people are a bit more solvent?
Bob
I, myself, would prefer to wait until after the holidays.

Sport suspension, lowered 2", polyurethane bushings, Koni Reds, adjustable pan hard rod, 215/40/16 on 16x7.5" front and 16x9" rear ESM wheels, Ported intake, custom cold air intake, sprint exhaust manifold, 2" free flow exhaust, 4-core radiator, Getrag 5-speed, Momo steering wheel, Saks heavy duty clutch, Euro style driving lights, tinted windows, seats from Acura Integra, 3 point retractable seat belts from a '75 Manta, flush mount aircraft style gas cap
The group-buy price looks reasonable enough for me. Count me in when the time comes. However...I'm with Bob. After the holidays would be more practical. -SD

So far it looks like the head count is Gary, Bob, Samdog, Opelenvy, Sportwagon75 and me. Getting closer but unless somebody is looking at more than one it is still too few for a group buy.
i want one, and i am ready now or whenever the group is ready

I,m in for a Megasquirt II. I need the ignition control for a turbo application.
Ok, count me in for the megasquirt kit. Also, I can solder other kits if anyone needs help.
If nobody minds about a European intruder,
Then I'm with you for one "type I" kit.
Thanks!

Well, it looks like I really need a Megasquirt now....

So Gary...humor me, what's the intended use? Your GT? The wagon?
Don't know... I was thinking wagon, but that red would look awfully nice in the GT.![]()

VERY NICE work, but won't fit either 2.2/2.4 "raised port" head. Looking at the ports and the general manifold layout, it looks exactly like a '75 . . . different throttle, but still, not a 3.0 manifold conversion!Originally Posted by Gary
