Sweeet......now, if you could just get the headlights working, and make it street legal.....![]()
Just registered on the site. Have several years racing the 71 GT, primarily at Buick events. Did run two IHRA national events (BB/AT) in 02. Best time was 7.84 @ 182.50 (11/03 at Cecil County). Lots of pics available for frame, cage work, and engine transplant. Motor is a Buick Motorsport Stage 2 V6, twin turbocharged, 274 CI. Horsepower around 1,200+. Wheelbase extended to 100.5". Body and doors are stock, glass front end. Car weighs #2,700 with #200 driver.

That is really cool! Please put all the pictures you can into the photo gallery. Especially the chassis buildup shots.
Any help or input for my S/G '70 project would be appreciated!
It's NOT the speed, BUT the sudden stop...
Darn, looks like my 3.4L V-6 will be no match for your 4.5L twin turbo, in a GT. Oh well. It does look good though, that torque you're producing sure does twist the body, at least it looks that way in the pics. Very nice, and welcome aboard the best doggone Opel forum on the web.

72 GT 3.4L V-6/T-5/ZF posi - almost done - Just need AC installed.
75 Chevy monza 5.7L/TH350/Auburn 3.08 posi - Next
Just tell me what you need, I'm willing to help! I've never built a race car over the internet, but I do fix trucks over the phone all the time...
The purists among us seem to kind of cringe over this stuff, but there are enough of us racers here to back you up!![]()
Been away from the site for a long time. No real reason. Just an update on the Opel. Went 7.58 in Bradenton this past January. See video link: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...86DF92C56E.htm
Even though I am putting the finishing touches on a new race car - 96 Buick Riviera, tube chassis 116" wheelbase - I will continue to campaign the Opel. Opel chassis only good to 7.50. Getting close, don't want to get booted from any track.![]()

Oh My God!! 7.58 at 181mph. That car sounds like a cross between a DC10 taking off and a Harly!!
How many Big Blocks and motor heads have you ate!!
I am in awe of that car!!!

looks like a screamer !!! welcome to the forum
Purist here! Had to make the terrible decision to have a 'driver' or a 'dragster' myself - but I do love Dragsters GTs.
Nice One!

This is where I learned how to drive a patrol car last month, in fact the guy in the mustang with the camara was my instructor. But alas, I did not get to drive quit like that, but close.

Arguing online is the same as racing in the Special Olympics;
no matter who wins, you're both still retarded.
