    More Sub-Forums

    Gary,

I liked your idea of having a separate forum for EFI Performance Modifications. Could you please set up a sub-sub forum for "Factory Fuel Injection" under "Fuel Systems" under "Group 6: Engine"? There seems to be a fair number of threads on the factory EFI, so if you set it up, I will move the threads around.

Looking at the "Fuel System" forum, we now have 18 (!) pages in that forum. Perhaps we could use a few other sub-forums? Like:

    "Solex Carb Repairs" ,
"Weber Down-draft Carbs (DGV and DGS Versions)",
"Weber Performance Side-draft Carbs (DCO and DOM Versions)",
"Fuel Tank, Lines, Filters and Venting",
    "Fuel Pumps".

There, THAT should handle 90 % of the threads. Maybe we should have the "Weber Down-draft" forum in the Performance forum, along with the EFI Performance forum?

And "while your are at it", perhaps another sub-forum in the Performance forum? One called "Performance Suspension and Braking Upgrades". And another called "Clutch, Transmission and Drive-train Upgrades". That would better handle the Performance threads.

    That's all for now...

    What do you think?

    SSD, DSD, Dell'Orto performance forums?

And where would I post Dell'Orto performance info? How about SSD and DSD performance forums . . . in addition to the side-draft carbs used with them?

OK, point taken. But instead of further segmenting the Forums, how about we just re-name the existing Side-draft Forum under the Fuel Systems Forum (where I have already moved a bunch of threads) to "Performance Side Draft Carbs" and take the Weber reference out. Then move it to and delete the duplicate forum under the "Performance" Forum.

So Down-draft Carbs will be under the "Fuel Systems", and Side-draft Carbs will be under Performance. Sounds appropriate, n'est pas?

Not more . . . just broader defined

Sounds good . . . agree we don't need more forums, just better categories . . . like you suggested in previous post.

I think that down-draft carbs (DGAS and DGV) are more "normal", versus the clearly "Performance" aspect of Side-draft carbs. Conversely, I would be happy to go back to having all the carb forums under the "Fuel Systems" Forum. And leave the other "Performance " Forums where they are. I simply don't give a rat's behind. But the threads are quiet distinct between the Solex, down-draft and side-draft carbs

Um, well, that would be up to you. Whatever turns your crank, so to speak

OK, how about we rename the Weber Down-draft Forum to "Down-draft Carbs; Weber and Other Brands Except Solex". Or whatever. Again, I don't really care, so long as it is clear that threads regarding down-draft carbs have a distinct home.

How about side draft to include DelOrto and Weber. Down draft performance for the Webers and Hollys and then stock Solex.

But won't the Mikuni, Stromberg and SU crowd feel left out? And what about the Rochester gang?

OK, ENOUGH of this nonsense. By the Power vested in me as the Über Moderator (and the only guy here who really cares where he moves threads, since I am the only guy who actually MOVES threads!), this is what I want:

    Under Fuel System

Aftermarket Down-draft carbs (incl Weber DGV and DGS)
Aftermarket Side-draft carbs (incl Weber DCO and DOM and Dell'Orto)

Delete the existing (but no threads) Side-draft Forum under "Performance", as it is really a Fuel System topic.

There. No more discussion required. Thanks Gary. The end.

    Thanks Keith

    Done!

BTW, According to the Moderator Logs, Keith has moved/edited over 150 posts in the past month. We all owe Keith a huge thank you for his organizational efforts over the past few years!

Imagine how messed up this site would be without him!

If you're going to include the Weber types, to be correct, see above. :o JUST a suggestion, but it IS a thread heading!
