    Driveshaft spring

Is the spring in the driveshaft for the modified 5-speed absolutly necassary? I left it out because I was a wuss and couldn't compress it all the way to fit on the u-joint.

yes it is, to load the torque tube. and not destroy the doughnut, bearing and mounts. Does fixing the rear sound easier than putting it in?

I think it's say goodbye to the ouput shaft seal and possibly bearing on the tranny too.

    Your call on it tho.
