I have a set that I dont think are short enough to fit my GT. So I would probably sell them, I dont recall the brand just now but can check when I get home tonight.
Changing our car from itb to FP. Want to run the allowed weber side drafts, but having trouble finding a supplier of manifolds. Any one know where I can get them or possibly have some laying around collecting dust?
Thanks!!

I too have several dual carb manifolds I can sell. One is a one piece English made unit that is what I ran with dual webers on my FP Opel GT. The other is individual carb (two piece) Cannon that's similar to the Steinmetz "dual" I run in GTLites. If you are interested in either or both contact me at 915-204-3520
or sczacki@utep.edu. I'll be around the phone through the weekend, but will not see email messages till Monday pm.

So does anyone have a single manifold they might wish to trade for a double? That is assuming a single will fit the GT without modification?

Here are pictures of my side draft manifolds and brand is Cannon:

uh, never mind, talked to Ernie Bello today, he's sending me three different manifolds to look at and fit around the cage tubes.
Thanks guys!

Ed, of all the 'off the shelf' manifolds, the TWM and the Magnoletsi flow the best. The Cannons aren't very good stock, but I prepped a set for Ernie years ago pretty radically (welded and ported), and they flowed quite well. If he sends you those and they fit, you'll find the head has to be aggressively ported to work with them, as they are appreciably larger than stock ports. If you have any more questions about them (or other engine prep questions), give me a call on my cell phone if you still have my number. I did a lot of initial R & D for the Opels when they first became eligible for FP.Originally Posted by FPManta59

Mr. Pierce of Pierce Manifolds mentioned being willing to make a small batch of manifolds for the Opel GT a couple of months ago. No $ was discussed but someone would have to purchase 10 at a time. I would be willing to buy one.

Pierce Manifolds was the stockist for the "English" Mangoletsi manifolds.Originally Posted by opelgt722002

True, but it appears Mangoletsi will not produce anymore of the sidedrafts for a 1.9L Opel GT. Pierce Manifold attempted to obtain one of these for me a couple of months ago. Pierce Manifold purchased the intake manifold business of TWM a
while back and discontinued producing both the Pierce manifold and the TWM manifold for the 1.9L Opel GT engine.

Weber and Dell Orto have ceased production of their carburettors too so it looks like finding these items new is going to get harder and harder. We will have to rely upon word of mouth and eBay to find side draft set ups for our Opels! Has anyone used twin 1 3/4" SU carbs on a CIH Opel motor?

So we lost TWM, Magnoletsi and Cannon intakes for Opels in one fell swoop? Guess I'll be building my own from now on.![]()
Any of you that run sidedrafts, do you use spring washers or just go with a regular washer and locknut on the manifold studs? I'm using the softmount gaskets.
jim the jags use 2" su's so theres a performance upgrade straight awayOriginally Posted by GTJIM

normal fitting is a thackary washerOriginally Posted by ConreroGT
its a double wound spring washer to absorb vibration but you dont squash it all the way down so the spring works +nylock nuts

I have seen a lot of talk on this topic lately which has peaked my interest on improving my GT performance. My Haynes Techbook Weber manual indicates the 40 DCOE 2 for the OPEL GT 1900, however with all these suppliers discontinuing intake manifolds for the single/twin setups, what other intakes are compatible (model number and name) for our cars?
