Thread: should wheels be this wacky?

    should wheels be this wacky?

Heres a picture of my manta, take alook at the front wheel, its turned full lock right. Is it suposed to stand so diagonal? it looks wierd, but i don't have a car with the same kind of suspension to compare with. also the wheels rub against the front belly pan when turned full lock, and the same wheels didn't do that on the other manta.

nothing seems to be bent or excessively worn on the susnpension, except a little "blank space?" in the steering rack.

    thanks.

The camber makes itself noticeable in a picture like that with the wheels locked, I always thought something was bent with the front wheels on my volvo when they where turned all the way. I dont think anything is seriousily wrong. A front end alignment would be helpful to tell if there are any problems. About the tire rubbing I coudn't tell you why unless the wheels weren't stock and had the wrong offset or the series of tire is too large.

this type of suspension is not very common anymore, so i didn't know if it was wrong or not, but the car steers just fine, minus the alignment that i should do. wheels have a bit of a larger offset, but i know rallybob has the same set on an opel... i'll just bend the pan allitle to stop the rubbing then.

    Thanks!

That looks exactly like it did on my -72 ascona, and that had the same suspension as the manta. So I think that is normal.
