Guys, I could be wrong, but after working on Willit?'s buckets and agonizing over which went where, I just looked at them on the faired side and they jumped right out as to which went where. The covers are marked around the vertical lip "L" and "R" in the area of the welded seam. HTH.

    Yes! L & R

Both the buckets and the covers are stamped "L" and "R" - found this out on a three day marathon refitting and refurbishing my headlights. Wasn't till I dragged out the NOS covers I had, which were unpainted, that I noticed the stamped letters on them.
You can also tell by looking at them as the front screw hole that hold the covers on is offset to the oposite side on each of them - put them side by side and this will become obvious. Unless you have two of one hand squeezed in there by a dreaded "P.O." Infact, if you look closely at my Atavar it can be seen there.

Jim, I looked all over both buckets for those letters on Willit?'s and couldn't find them, even after I had stripped them. The covers both had the letters on them though. Go figure.
