yes some parts stores still carry universal choke conversion kits , they come with a cable, and mounting kit ,can not tell you how much but they are out there
Does anybody know if it's possible to turn a auto choke on a solex carb into a manual choke????

So it's possible, then I'll have to think about how to do it, because those kits are not avalible here [I've been asking around]
Thanks Baz

if you can get a choke cable the brackets are easy to make on the carb most of the bits can be used from old weber carbs ,and a mounting inside can be make from a switch mounting and fitted under the dash neer the column

a bicycle cable would work.. but would be funnyand a pain
.. and you would have to make some kind of control nob on one end of the bicycle cable... and find out some way to connect it to the choke butterfly control, with out the kit it would be a pain in the rear... just on my weber i have had water, electric, and manual.... in my opinoin a properly set electric choke is the best...

While you're absolutely correct about using an electric choke in most cases, I used a bicycle cable with a 'click-set' gear selector lever for my SSD GT's choke . . . works great!!Originally Posted by Willy_g77
