I put my vote in for black...not that I don't like red GT's or even red with white stripes, but there are quite a few red GT's that a well done black one really stands out. You really cannot go wrong either way, though.

Chris, didn't I see a 74 Manta in that first picture? Jade Mist? Jarrell

Yes Soy, that is a 74 manta Jade Mist, tan interior. It is on the market. BTW it has a fully intact battery tray. I,m about to send it to eBay.

Although not one of your choices, I think SILVER looks fantastic on the GT. Really makes the curves stand out. If I were to redo the Conrero I'd make a silver version with flares. Silver with 2 red stripes....mmmmm

Somehow yellow really grabs my attention on a GT...
Black is really hard to do, and tough to keep clean. But when done well it is really sharp!

Jeff, I thought you would respond with something like

"Paint? You don't need any stinkin' paint! Just drive around in circles REAL fast until it all rubs off!"

Thank you all that have voted so far! VOTE IF YOU HAVNT!!! I have 42 votes total so far.

I aprreciate the requests on yellow and silver and I have definitly considered those in the past but with two other yellow opels within 10 miles of me I definitly didnt want to do that. Silver, just (to me) doesnt give off the chick magnet look. Haha, you all know I am a younger Guy (18) and that has to be a factor with your car! lol.

Thanks for voting guys and keep it up!

Black makes the GT small, tiny. You see dirt right away. I prefer a fresh blue metallic. It looks good with the chrome and it makes the GT bigger.

    Blauwmarc,

Did you recently paint your car? In your photo album, there are some pictures that look a darker, deeper shade of blue than the others. I like the darker metalic blue, allot! Is it close to the stock blue? or darker?

se if you can find a colour chip for f**d venetian red it about 4 shades darker than the radiant red on yxy and is a real nice deep red as a solid colour
if you are looking to metalic see if you can find a chip for rover night fire red (must be sprayed over a dark red primer )
both are uk colours but worth the search
and dont forget that all the bright motorcycle colours are usable on cars too

    paint choice

73 Opelman, Silver with a lot of metalic in it is very classy, and looks good with chrome. As far a chick magnets, trim it in green about 3X6 and with dead president's pictures on it and you would be surprised how effective it is Seriously, high metalic silver with metalic black stripes makes a very nice combination and makes a GT stand out in a sea of cars.

I was thinking your goal of 100 votes was optimistic, but it looks like you will hit 50 tonight! Good job. Anyone know what the record is for voters in a poll?

    Lol asdasc,

Well I know I most likely will not get 100 on this forum but I have friends and family that I have gotten their opinion aswell! So aobut 20 of them plus all the votes on here should give me my answer.

what is also amazing is with all these pro's and con's I still cannot decide for myself haha!

    Blue!

I predict that you will not use either of the two! If you can't decide, you are sold on either. Soon, you will be forced to make a decision, and on the way to the shop you will see some chevy or something with a nice color, and it will hit you like a ton of bricks!

    Good luck,
    Steve

HAHA! it is very funny that you say that, because for my 68' plymouth valiant I was going to be painting it black, or a plum crazy purple, but on the way there I saw a off white and THAT ended up being the color...haha, good memories thinknig on that car (Im selling it by the way if any you guys want it).

I agree with asdasc completely, if you have to do a poll to pick one then neither is probably the color for you. I think the opel looks hot in red but there are so many red ones(no offense) and black is hot too, but the dirt factor could be a major bummer.

The only stripes i like would be the same as on jj's green/silver gt.

Dave was taking his chevelle to get painted and it was going to be one color(can't remember which) till his friend that was doing the painting took him to see a truck in Patriot Blue and that was it, Patriot Blue it was.

If there had been a "neither" option I would have voted.

    Consider other colors?

Perhaps it IS time to consider other colors?

Green with tan interior is very classy I think (though many people I've talked to HATE that combo...that's OK!).

I really like the look of a nice, rich blue GT with white interior - also very classy.

Never was much into white GTs, though I understand the appeal of a white GT with red interior.

The silver is nice too...and yellow really looks awesome on a GT.

All this really simplifies things for you I'm sure!

It'll be really interesting to see what you go with at this point. I'm placing my bet on RED.

My favorite color on an opel is definatly yellow, I think it brings out the lines and the curves the most...my favorite shade of yellow is the one that jlthunder has on his gt. Fireglow also looks really great with any color interior.
