I am in the process of adding the rallye guage package to my '73 Manta. I realize I need a special oil pressure sending unit to operate the oil guage. My question is: can I put in a T-fitting to use both the idiot light, and the new guage, sending units at the same time? I have searched the forums but kept getting zero matches. Don't know if it is possible, seems possible, but figure the experts out there would know.I like the idea of having two ways to monitor the oil pressure if it can be done.

I searched "dual oil pressure sending units" and got no matches. I thought that was funny also as I should have matched the "oil pressure sending unit" part at least. I will go back and search using the "op sender".

I have the same issue as Jeff, I want to put a rallye gauge package on my Manta. But, somebody told me the senders for Manta and GT are different: the GT measures in bars, the manta in PSI. So, he figures the senders are not interchangable. I might be able to look up the part numbers somewhere to be sure. egauges meanwhile says the senders work for both 5bar and 0-80 PSI. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_send.asp?...Bar_VDO&Cart=1 DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE CORRECT THREAD??
If they're not the same, I'm guessing you could put a shunt (resistor) across the GT sender to compensate, but with no baseline measurement, this would be guesswork.
Does anybody out there have a spare Manta/sportwagon sending unit?
As mentioned, the alternative would be a mechanical gauge. I will look for something from VDO of similar size, don't know yet if it exists.
As opposed to the T-adaptor, once I get the pressure guage set up I'll probably just disconnect the idiot light (unplugging it effectively does that). The reason is, when my old rallye engine was failing 18 years ago, the idiot light didn't even come on until the oil pressure guage was reading virtually nil, making it a post-idiot light.

well, I guess my search language wasn't right on. No need to get all teutonic on me. Thanks for the info though, at least somebody wants to know.
Also, the bushing part# mentioned in the other thread (R7965) converts - 1/8 NPT female x M18 X 1.5 male according to the egauge site. If it's M14, the part number would be R7963.
I'm going to assume the other thread page referred to M14 as Bob says unless somebody has to straighten me out again.

The oil pressure sender and gauge can be found at egauges.com. They have several VDO sending units. You can order a new one there. It's peanuts and you have the correct gauge and sender. No guess work.

I used a tee like you are describing. I used the stock oil sending unit with an aftermarket gauge. It was in a 1.9 that I used to race with and it worked fine. I had numerous other problems (not relating to the sending unit), but at least the gauge worked. HTH.

I'm going with a new sender just for the guarantee. Since you seem to have done a number of converts however, would you happen to have a fog/driving light switch for the Manta? Relay would be nice too. I also need a hazard light switch button for the steering column.

It German I believe it is a schaltenhabel. Then again, I've got a few of them as well. Switches, relays, Hazard flasher buttons, etc.
