    1.1SR solex carbs

I just bought a 69 1.1SR gt...yippie and have a few questions on the twin carb setup.

    1) How reliable is the "idle computer" vs the older twin solex carbs with manual idle adjustment?

    2) Does anyone have the schematic for the idle computer...I think there was a .jpg of one on the site, but I can't find it now

    3) Any hints or tricks for tuning these carbs other than the FSM?

The body is really bad on this car, so I'm just fixing it up a little to a have a car that gets good mpg...Thanks for your help.

Better than the Twin BBL Solex!

    1) The idle computer can go 'bad' but is just a switch which operates at about 2,000 rpm so below that the idle mixture is fed through the idle passages. The earlier set up is on my Kadett Rallye and work very well - until I re-kitted the carbs ...... still working on them to get them as good as they were after 39 years of operation!
Kits have been available on EBay recently so keep your eyes open - even saw a NOS 'computer there not so long ago!

2)Schematic below - the 1969 Kadett & GT FSM has a couple of good coverage sections on tuning these carbs.

    3) Follow the FSM proceedure and don't fix what is not broken!

    1.1sr & Fsm

The 69 FSM is ok for the twin carbs as long as they have not been messed with. The FSM for 70 is much better and includes baseline adjustments that are not in the 69 manual.
I don't know anything about the computer, not installed on the AT models.
Currently tweaking in my SSD 40DCOE w/ Irmscher intake .
    good luck,
    Kevin
