Classifieds as Threads

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but at the risk of being slammed here is my opinion. I am not to fond of having the classified "threads" mixed in the the real ones, they are pushing the recent threads down and off the first page which makes it more difficult to know when new posts have been made to old threads if you don't visit the site for a day or so. I know I can search back in time, but I am lazy and like to just click on the site to see what has transpired since my last visit.

I like it better now that the ads are more clearly shown with the [FS], [WTB] etc in the titles. But unless you happen to check quite often, you are going to miss new posts, even if the ad titles are moved off the home page. The best way to do a VERY quick search is to click on the "new posts" link in your User CP at the top right on the home page (you might have to expand your User CP to see that), or simply click on the "Get Posts" button in the Navigation Menu (also might have to be expanded) to search "new posts" or a choice of date ranges.

I like the ads showing up. I don't check the ad section too often so this lets me know what is being posted on something I might be interested in. My .02

Too much clutter with ads on main page, IMO . . . any way to display just a "New Ads" folder that contains ALL the current new ads and would take only one line rather than multiples, Gary?

I don't really like the ads in the forum front page area either. Clutters the front page and if you inadvertantly click the ad you get moved to the classified section...

I agree that there should be maybe a certain thread or something where you can view all the new AD's.. because a lot of times I see 'older ads' showing up under the newest posted ones..

the only reason I like the ads here is to spot new items for sale. I don't like the fact that people don't ask ads to be removed when they sell or the item is no longer available and you waste time to email

One way to get posts only is to go to the "What's going on" forum it lists the last 25 posts.

Also to clean up the main page, you can click on the double arrow icon in the upper right of each block and that block will shrink. See the attachments for an example.

I like the ad's to show up cause I'm always looking for parts ( being a newbie and all) besides if you click one by acc. just hit your back button and your out just as fast

Yer welcome. Some things are easier to fix. I just duplicated the latest post block and excluded everything but the Ad Board forum.

Just click the double arrow as Gary suggested and the whole thing will reduce to one line and stay that way until you expand it again.

Thanks for the info, for I too, was not liking the ads bumping off other threads, especially when someone would 'add' to their sale ad to 'bump' it back into the forum.
