Formatting Changes

Gary,
I just noticed some formatting changes (the edit and quote buttons are at the top of each post rather than at the bottom) but also that there is now a Google Ad Banner inserted into the top post of each thread (actually, at the top of the top post on each page of a thread). Is this a quirk, or by design? Not a big deal, but it is a bit distracting

That was in error and is what happens when a football game started when I was in the middle of making some changes. (Check out the sort by zip code feature in the member list.)

That zip code feature is cool, but, only if they actually put something in there other than "USA", "Planet Earth"

I need to figure out how to filter out the members who have not entered their zip code from the sort. The banner was placed below the first post as a way to get more revelent listings.

I don't want to sound "prudish" about this, but, it's kinda stupid, when someone fills out their bio like that, thinking they're funny or cute, but, then they come on asking for help or wanting to buy/sell some parts and you have NO CLUE as to where they're at....GEEZ

Members can add their Zip/Postal codes to their profile by going to your UserCP --> Edit your Details --> Additional Information. There is a field the for zip/postal codes.

I also added a new optional field for your first name. If you fill out that section, your real name will be added to the thread posting info.

Gene, don't worry about how you sound. There are two groups, one is 100% behind you, and the others just don't give a $h.. about what's right or not.

What I meant to say was:

not every change is an improvement

Got you covered. The field lists Zip/Postal Codes. there are already a lot of Euro Postal Codes in there.

Right. Changes can always be reverted back. I keep looking for ways to keep the site fresh and improve your experience here.

I spent all day yesterday working on the site and made several changes and fixes. I was working on the one that Keith mentioned when I noticed the game had started. The change did not show up right away and I didn't notice it until later. (A problem with working on a "live" site.)
