Seams like we are always looking for Opelers close to where we live. Is it possible to create a search in the member list by location?

Not at this time. I don't know if the new version of the forum software will have that feature.

I know there is an OPEL Help list on the Yahoo site that is in a spreadsheet format, and as such can be accessed by ZIP code. This list was set up for all the Opel folks that are traveling and need assistance during their journey from point A to point B. I believe a query was put out on this list at one time for folks who wanted to assist fellow Opelers enroute. It is a "Private" and voluntary list and a traveler could ask for a list of those along their intended trip.

I've noticed a lot of guys on this site don't even put their location in their profiles. It would be hard to pin down a location like "earth" for trying to get ahold of someone for an Opel get-together. (No offense intended to any of you guys with that type of location in your profile.)

That said, announcing an event might also get passers-through. I know I'd certainly adjust my trip to AZ this spring a couple of days if it meant stopping by for a couple of Opel events.

Location is a required field for new registrations.

I just added a Zip/Postal Code field for future use. It will only be visible to Admins and Moderators. Once the data is in there we should be able to sort it by code.
