Unanswered: fuel starvation issue poss accelerator pump

Hi Guys-

My car is barely driveable. It will idle fine but will only accelerate under full throttle. Anything less it does not get fuel and will stall. With the car in idle I can gently rev it to maybe 3000 rpm, anything more and the fuel cuts off unless full throttle.

I have a rebuild kit, is the accelerator pump easy to install, forgive my mechanical ignorance.

Keep it simple - check the fuel filter.

take the fuel line off at the carb and have some one crank the engine with the pipe in a jar , you should get around 5cc / spurt if it looks less or almost nothing have a search for "tank sock" it might be just the thing for you
if you have an inline fuel filter before the pump or after it could be that too( the clear plastic ones are best to renew every year or so ) and if they are both clear check the ignition system before you pull the carb as it could be that giving problems

What carb are you using? It does sound like a fuel starvation problem too though. When I first installed my 38 DGES I had bad fuel starvation. It would rev great to 3000 RPM then stumbled out and no acceleration, let you foot off the gas then you can drive again.
