I believe Opel GT Source has rebuild kits for the Solex 1.1 carbs. I will be ordering those myself in a few months when it comes time to dig into that project.

Not All the same ...

There are several different variations of carbs on Kadett Rallye SR motors with the earlier ones (1967) being most workable with.

Later on the idle passages were modified and a separate idle mixture control unit attached to the intake manifold, between the twin carbs. This unit is electrically activated and controlled by a very simple 'computer'.

What year is your Rallye?

Often carb kits are listed on EBay and I think OGTS and probably USAOpel or OpelWerks could find them for you. Be careful to check that the new gaskests have exactly the same holes in them as the ones for your particular version of Solex.

Finding a new pair of carbs would be a neat trick ... I have kept my eyes open for some ... for years!

The other option is to fit a Weber on a special manifold. I have one for my 1967 Rallye SR that fits a sidedraft Weber but have also seen special manifolds that fit the downdraft 32/36 Weber that is often fitted to the 1.9L motor.

Mine actually doesn't look like that, I'll try and scrounge it up and get some pics too.

I have one of the 1.5L ones that goes the other direction too, a 1-bbl Solex on the CIH motor.
