Unanswered: Opel GT Solex

I've seen a lot of parts and differences in opel's but you guys know by now I can't turn a working solex down when the price is right. I bought this off of ebay a few weeks ago and after recieving it realized it may be for a 1.9 but don't believe it to be a Gt mostly because the barrels are the same size and it has a built on fuel regulator thats non-adjustable carb looks to be in great mechanical shape and the regulator probably works I have not cleaned this up yet, . PO said it was off 1970 model gt but had been replaced by a weber, but before I use it for parts I wanted to be sure that there might be an outside chance that this could be a 68 model Solex used on the early 69 imported cars. BTW my solex manual does not even include this carb nor the attached fuel regulator

It looks to be a manual choke model, which were primarily installed on 1968 Kadetts.

A cross-reference between the tag number and Solex applications, can be seen on:

. . . as Dave A. so aptly states and you already surmised, it is indeed a manual choke, mechanical secondary, progressive Solex carb, used ONLY on 1968 Kadett 1.5 CIH engines.

The regulator is more than likely add-on, as I can find no reference to it it any FSM or FPM. That said, this carb also differs from all its 1.9 counterparts by both significantly smaller jetting and primary/secondary main venturi sizes, 22/24mm vs. 24/28mm . . . ergo, NOT interchangeable!

I couldn't find it either and tag was missing off the carb like many used carbs so I wire brushed it and removed the pressure regulator ( which is really unique I've never seen one like it, the elongated bowl on the bottom is glass the diaphram is connected to a balanced beam assembly and it has a ball on the other end of the beam when beam is balanced it shuts off the inlet port.)
manufactured in Exeland, Wisconsin by Milesmaster probable early gimmick sold to increase your gas mileage.

Thanks for the help and info on the carb least now I know which shelf to put it on.

The tell tale criteria is, if that is indeed a 68 1500 carb. in addition to the above discription, is the 1500 carb. has a smaller fuel inlet into the carb. unless someone has replaced the top with a 1900 top.
