Unanswered: Solex idle-air screw

Hello everyone once again!

In my Solex 32/32DIDTA I have noticed this:

The idle-air screw has no functionality at the last two turns before it bottoms in. So in order to make any adjustment it must be at least 2.5 turns out to be fully functional in both directions... In my carb, this screw is like a 4mm in diameter, flat-bottomed rod (not conical). What do you think? Is this normal? It is not at all deformed, and the "O-ring" on it is in good condition.

I was doing some adjusting on my carb today in the secondary barrel's flap and something intresting came in my attention.

These Solex carbs in Europe, came with a "hot-idle compensator" device on the secondary barrel. It is a bi-mettal spring opening a small orifice in the secondary barrel, just above the flap. It's purpose is to reduce emissions when intake's temperature is over about 92*C. This was missing on my carb, and that little orifice is opened all the time, thus creating a small vacuum leak.
What was even more intresting is that I found an identical device on the intake manifold, just below the carb, which is not described in my Haynes manual. Anyway, this was also worn, so propably it was not sealing the orifice when it should, thus giving me a second vacuum leak.

I would like to know, in your cars are there any such devices on the carb, on the manifold or both, as it looked to be sometime in the past in my car?

I didn't find anything suitable in my toolcase to temporarily seal the orifices to see if this would help my case with the idle-air screw, so I left it for anotther day.

This could be the cause that my idle-air screw in the far two turns before it bottoms in has no effect to idle speed (see my other thread). I start to think that those two small vacuum leaks are enough to overcome the air-flow that the idle-air screw allows in that range...

I will find out sometime next week!

P.S. Do you guys know if such "idle compensator" devices are sold as replacent parts? I would prefer to buy a couple of them to replace than plugging the orifices. After all, they were placed there for a reason (I try to be "environment friendly")...
