Unanswered: Solex DIDTA (BMW?)

I got in my hands a SOLEX 32/32 DIDTA in VERY good condition, though it doesn't seem to be from an OPEL. It has these differences:

a) idle is adjusted only by throttle stop screw and mixture adjustment screw (it lacks the idle air screw and relevant jet on the primary's side)
b) it has 24mm venturi in the 1st barrel (against 26mm of OPEL), and 26mm in the 2nd
c) there are no progression jet "ports" in the float chamber (next to the secondary's main jet)
d) there is no float chamber vent valve system (hole exists)
e) it uses different size of jets

Could it be from an BMW "2002"?

I can change the jets to proper size, and I have already "swifted" the venturis so the 26mm is in the primary and the 24mm in the secondary. In addition, I can get the whole float chamber vent valve from my current stock carb, and propably one 26mm venturi to use on the secondary of the "new" carb.

I can't do anything though for the different idle system and the absence progression jets in the float chamber.

Can someone guess how using this carb would affect performance?

bmw used the didta on a lot of there cars before they went to injection i can scan the idle set up for you and post soon if you want

btw most of the bmw ones bolt up from below so if you have mounting holes with thread in it is the bmw type if not it will be off some thing else

Well, there are no threads in the mounting holes, so I guess it is not a BMW after all.

Would you think that with proper jetting (as per original) it will work good in my Ascona? I can't think how the lack of float vent valve would affect it's performance, if at all! The absense of progression jets in the secondary I imagine that would make it a bit more agrresive when it comes in action...

In my stock Solex, I remember of a metal "straw" hanging from the cover in the float chamber. What does this do? In this "new" Solex either it is missing (lost), or function not used. If I remeber correctly it must be the feed to the enrichment pump in the cover, and the new has such a pump, so I guess it was lost by the previous owner...

As for the idle adjustment, it is rather easy with just throttle stop and mixture. I imagine setting the speed by throttle-stop, adjusting mixture (highest manifold vacuum does the job well...), and then if needed correction to idle speed by throttle stop screw. In addition the secondary's is like the stock solex, so 3/4 from completely closed is the correct position for not sticking...
