Unanswered: Solex membranes?

Ok, I have the same question for the "power valve" and "accelerator pump" membranes. Are they supposed to be flat, or are they "cupped" in the center area that the different parts move them?

Cool

If the are like the ones on my Weber then the should be flat when they are new. When I had to replace my faulty power pump, it had a small hole in the edge of the rubber and was cupped from old age. As long as it is good it won't matter if it is cupped, as long as your careful when you install it!

I found a pic in a Mikuni Solex parts page that shows a membrane that is something in between flat and cupped. My main concern was the power valve, as a flat membrane was a bit difficult to operate in the system, it was "clicking" the valve open and closed, whereas a "cupped" one I tried on yesterday gave smooth and progressive movement to the piston... I liked it better, and since it does let the valve operate I am gonna leave that one in there.

Thanks!
