Engine-Ear is on a distinguished road
To each his own...but when I want high-end audio, I don't sit in my car. (I am sure you'd agree, our cars aren't exactly "acoustically-tuned chambers" for tweak-o audio playback)

As many of you guys who know me know, I ain't no purist...I just wanted to update the thread that they made a demo video.

Plus, at $129 and no hassles with removal and replacement of my original radio, I think the majority of people will like the idea of using the portable music player they already own when they want to cruise with their favorite tunes.

Anyway, Happy New Year, all.

OK, now we have an original, working, low watt, one speaker, am radio, BUT the original 40 year old "10 ohm" speaker cone is torn. looks like that can be repaired, thanks Dennis for info. but is there a new compatable & comparable speaker available, not the 300w 3 ways sold only in pairs everywhere ? Thanks in advance for leads & advice.

Try looking at Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Audio, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV

I used a Radio Shack, P/N 4001041, 8 ohm 20 watt RMS, 5" speaker with my original GT radio. Made a speaker adapter from 3/8" plywood. Then, I spray-painted the plywood, black. Speaker sounds good with the old radio.

I would think you would be able to find a suitable and inexpensive replacement speaker near you at either Grand Auto, Radio Shack, Fry's electronics, or even Walmart.
