I am going to try to get us a spot set off at the Parthenon for a photo op, and it is an art museum as well. It's pretty impressive. May try to do some down town activities just need to play that by ear, as parking is off a bit from a lot of that...so trying to include something with the cars. Harold is thinking the Gerst Haus for dinner, which it actually looks like a good menu with all around food. (Harold will correct my spelling if I got that wrong on the restaurant).
Friday we are meeting at the Museum and there are two special venues, the basement tour (which will be Saturday) and the Nissan Heritage Collection....which we know some people that manage that collection and hoping to get the tour of it for the Friday folks. We still have to fill up time, and yes, my shop is about 80 miles east of the show venue, and if all goes well, I can be open for a Sunday afternoon tour, or even through the rest of the week.

PJ (and others using Google maps) the average speed for your trip is over 62 mph. The actual time for each leg does NOT include any gas stops, viewing interesting things, eating meals or any other breaks/off road time. My experience on most of my trips over "unknown" roads sets 55 as a more realistic goal and I am not driving a 44 to 48 year old car. Before you make any plans for places to spend the nights (or how long you will actually be on the road each day), take another look. Also not included is sight seeing stops. HTH -- Doug

Something isn't right in your calculation.

If it is, don't tell to my wife!

You need to change your handle and remove the word "racer" from it

PJ - The calculation is simple:1949 miles / 31 hours = 62 mph. Something to check in your head: 1800 (fewer miles) / 30 (slightly fewer hours) = 60 mph so it will be in the right "area".

As for wife, I won't tell her, but mine gets down right "Beeee - itchy" when we are on the road a couple of hours more than I tell her! something to consider!!!

Jeff, the "sl" is straight line as in Bonneville Salt Flats and/or El Mirage Dry Lake (CA) so the combination means I don't race on the roads. I don't have anything to prove on the road and I do arrive more relaxed when I am not trying to shave off an hour, so I plan on taking longer and if something worth seeing shows up, I can look! That is why the commercials on TV say "KIDS, don't try this at home!" Also, I need to add extra time when my wife is travelling with me. On our trips to So.Cal., I can say "rest area is about 5 miles, do you want to stop?" and be within a couple of miles every time. That way she can think about for a couple of minutes before she tells me to stop! Never miss the opportunity to stop!

If you take time lost for the repairs on the road, the average speed will be even higher! Then, older people require more frequent pee stops, so the average speed is getting close to 100 mph!

Damn Google map, it is all wrong.
